Introduction

Lancashire’s coastline, resorts and popular towns are a hive of entertainment, leisure and family friendly events designed to appeal to all ages and interests.  Morecambe, Heysham and Blackpool are popular destinations.

Morecambe offers an extensive programme of special events and festivals, and with its unspoilt coastline, golden sands, cosmopolitan cafes, shops and restaurants,  there’s always something to please all generations.

Steeped in Victorian history, Heysham is a fascinating village to explore. Discover St Patrick’s, an eight century chapel with iconic rock graves on dramatic headlands overlooking the bay.  The Heritage Centre explains the architectural heritage of the village and documents the previous industrial economies through a series of pictorial images and exhibitions.  During the summer Heysham brings history to life, hosting the vibrant Viking Festival complete with battle re-enactments, weaponry displays, combat competitions, food and live music.

Blackpool is one of the UK’s most popular seaside resorts attracting millions of visitors each year.  With beautiful gardens, zoo, tower, illuminations, waterparks, and of course its famous Pleasure Beach, Blackpool is a typical fun of the fair seaside resort.

Slightly further afield, yet within a 30 minute drive from Hawthorne Sands Holiday Park is the Lake District National Park, England’s largest national park and now a designated World Heritage site. Coniston Water, Windermere, Scafell Pike, picturesque valleys, soaring mountains, fells, lakes – the distinctive characteristics of this beautiful Cumbrian coastline are immeasurable.

A Hawthorne Sands Holiday Park home gives opportunity to visit the most scenic landscapes of the UK.  Visit once, and you’ll want to come back.  There’s just so much to discover and explore that owning a holiday home on the Hawthorne Sands site makes it so much easier.
